He was born on April 9, 1982 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Tina M. (Johnson) Jessup and the late Patrick W. Jessup. He was married to Kali R. (Mulhollen) Jessup. Josh was the owner of PNT Auto Body, Wellsboro, PA. He loved spending time with his family, had a lifelong passion of basketball, and enjoyed many outdoor activities including fishing, camping, hiking, and kayaking.

Daughter of: Walter and Marguerite Fuller Hamilton, Cuba, NY

Sr. Harriet Hamilton joined the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany on February 2, 1955, was received into the Congregation on August 15, 1955 and professed her final vows on August 16, 1962. She joyfully lived the mission and charism of the Franciscan Sisters for 69 years.

Harriet attended Cuba Central Grammar and High School graduating in 1951. She attended St. Bonaventure University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and a minor in Education. Later, she attended Marywood University, Scranton, PA, graduating with a Master of Science Degree in Library Science.

Born February 24, 1983, in Olean, he was the son of Michael T. and Barbara A. Bellamy Eck. A graduate of Scio High School, he was employed by Michael A. Roeske, Land Surveyor.

He also detailed cars and did yard work. Cory enjoyed riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes.

Surviving are:a son, Lennox; two siblings, Christina (Anson) Beckwith of Bolivar and Clayton (Beth) Eck of Wellsville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents.

Friends may call at OLNEY-FOUST Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY onFriday,August9, 2024 from4:00 –6:00PM, with a Memorial Service following at6:00PM. Rev.Carl Kempwill officiate.

Joseph A. “Joe” “Patsy” Scida, 99, of Powers Avenue, Johnsonburg, passed away Sunday evening, August 4, 2024, at Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Johnsonburg on January 1, 1925, a son to the late Vincenzo “Jim” and Adeline Papa Scida. On August 7, 1946, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, he married Kathleen M. “Kay” Hocking, and she survives.

A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Joe was a 1943 graduate of Johnsonburg High School, a member of Holy Rosary Church, VFW, American Legion post 501 and had been a past member of East End Hose Co. and the Prince of Piedmont Club. He loved spending time with is family and grandchildren, tending to his gardens, fishing, canning and enjoying his wine and Italian meats.

Joe was a WWII Navy Vet serving as a LCVP driver at Omaha Beach, transporting soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division of the Us Army or “The Big Red One”, making multiple trips from the LST ship to shore before he was wounded aboard his boat. After he was wounded, healed and rehabilitated, he remained in the Navy in the European Theater until his discharge in 1946.

Diane married Richard “Pete” Glintz in August 1969. Pete preceded Diane in death in February of 2005. Diane is survived by two sons, Michael Glintz of Morristown, NJ, and Steven Glintz of Alexandria, VA, and a sister, Janice Rhoades of Spencerport, NY.

Alvin H. Brown, known affectionately as Al, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the age of 77 in Emporium PA from a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on June 22, 1947 in Ridgway, PA. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a respected member of his community. He attended Emporium schools and graduated from Cameron County High School in 1965 before furthering his education at Penn State, Dubois.

Al loved many things in life: family, outdoors, service of others, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He married his high school sweetheart Marilyn Hathaway in November 1966. She was the love of his life and partner in many great adventures. Together, they traversed the US as members of the Goldwing Road Riders Motorcycle Group which he served two years as PA state Director.

Dorothy J. Wehler, 96, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 1011 S. Michael Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

She was born on April 18, 1928 in St. Marys, PA, a daughter of the late James and Jeannette Donachy McAllister.

On June 16, 1945, she married Ivan A. Wehler, who survives. Together they have shared a lifetime of love, having recently celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of Queen of the World Church. Together with her husband and both gifted with a musical talent, Dorothy loved to play the accordion and piano, often entertaining the residents at the local nursing homes. Most of all, Dorothy was the essence of a wife and mother, having raised her family and cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always delighted to hold a baby, and loved when her family would bring the grandbabies for her to hold and cuddle.

In addition to her husband of more than 79 years, Ivan Wehler, she is survived by seven children; Mary Lee (David) Struble of St. Marys, Karen (Jeff) Lapp of Mill Hall, Dora (Dan) Cunningham of St. Marys, Sandy (Roger) Schreiber of Export, Pat (Georgia) Wehler of St. Marys, Dawn (Roy) Erhard of St. Marys, and Sherri (Doug) Pistner of St. Marys; and by her 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 27 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Ivan Wehler, Jr.; one brother, Howard McAllister; one sister, Elizabeth McAllister; son-in-law, Jerome “Woody” Schaut; and by three grandsons; Matthew Schaut, Allan Schaut, and Bobby Wurm.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy J. Wehler will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.

Visitation will be held privately.

Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

West Clarksville- Robert Joseph Zelko, a longtime resident of West Clarksville, entered into eternal life on August 1, 2024 to be with his loving wife.

Born in Glassmere, PA., on July 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter and Francis Wesoloski Zelko. On October 10, 1964, in Olean, he married the love of his life, Annette Zelko.

Mr. Zelko graduated from Portville Central School in 1949. He served in the US Army in the United States, as well as in Germany. Bob grew up around dairy farming. He had been employed by Ed Hartnick, grinding feed for area farmers. He also worked at Valley Farms Dairy in Olean before going to work at Friendship Dairies, Inc., where he retired from 1992. He was also a life member of the West Clarksville Fire Department.

Michael K. Johnson of 509 W. 6th Street, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at UPMC in Jamestown.

Michael was born October 28, 1959 in Olean and was the son of Phillip Edward and Barbara Louise Brenan Johnson Edwards.

Michael served in the US Airforce from March 2, 1978 to February 5, 1984. He worked for Fitzpatrick Security, formerly a part time Olean Police Department Dispatcher, bus driver and part of the Little Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Michael was an ordained minister. He taught HAM radio classes, was an advanced EMT at BOCES where he also taught classes. Michael was a former Eagle Scout.

Harold L. Hagman, 97, formerly of Kane, PA died Friday, August 2, 2024 at Paramount Senior Living in McMurray, PA.

He was born February 3, 1927 in Clermont, the son of Fred and Anna Anderson Hagman.

On November 21, 1952, he married Phyllis Smith, who preceded him in death in 2017.

Mr. Hagman retired from National Fuel Gas Company in 1989, after more than 40 years of employment. He served in the United States Army and was stationed with the 88th Division in northern Italy late in World War II. He was a member of Wilcox Lodge 571, F & AM.

Steven D. Houben, 54, of 745 Gleason Hollow Road, Portville, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home.

Steven was born September 28, 1969, in Olean and was the son of Jack D. and Mary Kay Palumbo Houben.

Steven was a 1987 graduate of Olean High School. He was a hard dedicated worker throughout his life. Steven worked as a distributor for the Buffalo Newspaper for 28 years and was currently working at Dominos Pizza.

Steven enjoyed cars, stock cars, drag racing, and kayaking. He loved music, going to concerts and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. But most of all he loved taking care of his mother. He will be remembered as a super nice guy who always had your back and will help you out no matter what you need.

Leslie M. “Rabbit” Jensen, 71, of Carter Camp, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 23 2024, at home. Born November 9, 1952 in Annapolis, MD, she was a daughter of the late John Jensen and Mary (Blades) Jensen.

Rabbit was a graduate of Pleasantville High School in Pleasantville, NJ and then attended Widener University in Chester, PA. She was then employed at Xerox as a repair tech and then at the Ford Motor Company and Visteon in electronics and as a quality control tech.

Rabbit was a member of the Galeton Public Library Board for many years, and greatly enjoyed reading and gaming. She was also a writer and edited newsletters for DVFFA and the Frosty Hollow Herb Guild. She put together and edited “A Woman’s Angle” and self-published it for DVFFA. This was a collection of stories from 10 years of the newsletter.

Paula D. Guffey, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on July 29, 2024, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was a resident of 20 Cassin Hill Rd, Garnet Valley, PA.

Paula had a grace about her that can’t be described, regal in her beauty. She was known for her incredible generosity and dedication to her family. She worked as a secretary at Ridgway Hospital, where she was valued for her kind nature. Despite living an adventurous life early on, including traveling on the Concorde before it was retired, residing in the heart of New York City, and even meeting Pope John Paul II. Paula will be most remembered for her later years, living the life she wanted with John. Embracing a simpler life that reflected her humble personality and her desire for simplicity and the love of home.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as doing crossword puzzles, reading books, watching the news with John, spending time with her family, and caring for her dogs, Joey and Jill. Paula was also known for her amazing decorating skills, creating beautiful homes that were a testament to her talent and attention to detail.

Leon E. Cline, 91, of County Road 18, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born March 13, 1933, in Wellsville, the son of the late Leon S. and Esther M. (Willard) Cline.

Leon was raised in Allegany County and attended school in a Wellsville area one-room-schoolhouse. He was eventually awarded an honorary GED from the school district. With special permission from his parents, he enlisted at 16 with the United States Army and deployed at 17 to Korea with the 32nd infantry, proudly serving from 1950 to 1953. After his honorable discharge he travelled the United States, including spending time in Florida as a Tugboat Operator and in Arizona, working at his aunt’s bar.

John Alfred Mascioni, Jr., 59, of Bolivar Drive, Bradford, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 22, 1965, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Gail Liane (Tice) Dunkle, of Bradford and John A. Mascioni, Sr., of Limestone.

He was a 1983 graduate of Bradford Area High School.

After high school he apprenticed at McCourt Label which led to a 20-year career there. He later worked in the Electronics Department at Walmart, until his health failed, and he was unable to be employed. John courageously battled significant health issues for years and was the recipient of a heart transplant. Over the course of his treatment, he became more than a patient to many of his providers – he also became a friend.

He formerly volunteered at the Bradford Regional Medical Center and at the SPCA where he also served on the board. He loved tinkering with electronics and computers.

Sandra A. “Sandy” Klink, 74, of Cobb Street, Johnsonburg, PA passed away at her home surrounded by her family, Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024, following a lengthy illness.

Sandy was born on January 1, 1950, in St. Marys, a daughter to the late Robert “Soup” and Margaret “Annie” McCabe Stahli. On January 21, 1967, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Thomas Klink. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2024.

Sandy lived most of her life in Johnsonburg and attended Johnsonburg schools. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg Legion Post 501, the Prince of Piedmont Club and Central Hose where she had been a bartender for 12 years before her retirement in 2012.

Sandy loved spending time at home, sending greeting cards to everyone she knew for every occasion, good and bad, and even a ”Just Thinking Of You” card to keep in touch. She also loved feeding and watching the birds and sitting and visiting with family and friends.
